Teaflask uses a prepaid balance in US dollars. Agent work not covered by your own [model provider key](/keys) draws from that balance. Owners manage funding under **Settings > Billing**.

## Check the balance

The billing page shows your balance and warns when funds are low or exhausted. If work is waiting for funds, it shows how much a top-up could resume.

[Transactions](/transactions) lists the movements behind the balance. [Usage](/usage) shows spending by agent and funding source.

## Unlock welcome credit

A new organization starts with an empty balance. Welcome credit has two stages:

### Card credit: $20

Choose **Add a card** to complete a $0 verification check through Stripe. The check does not charge the card. An eligible card unlocks $20 of credit and can be saved for future billing. A paid top-up can also unlock this credit.

One card can unlock welcome credit for only one organization. Prepaid cards, cards added through wallets such as Apple Pay or Google Pay, and cards whose security code cannot be confirmed do not qualify. Billing shows the reason if a card is refused.

### Company credit: $100 total

After unlocking card credit, a qualifying company can receive an additional $80, bringing its total welcome credit to $100. Company credit is available once per qualifying work-email domain across organizations.

Automatic checks use signals such as Google Workspace sign-in, an established GitHub organization and repository history, or a company email domain at least six months old with a live website. Connecting a GitHub organization alone does not guarantee qualification.

Use **Check again** to rerun the checks, or **Request work credit** to request manual review. Both card and company grants appear as **Credit** transactions.

You do not need a model provider key to receive welcome credit. Conversely, you can start with an active provider key without completing the card-credit flow.

## Add funds

Choose **Add funds**, enter a whole-dollar amount from **$5 to $5,000**, and complete Stripe's hosted checkout. The balance updates after payment succeeds. A successful payment also saves the card for future billing.

## Configure auto top-up

Auto top-up attempts to charge a saved card when the balance reaches or falls below your chosen threshold. Set:

- **Trigger balance:** the balance level at or below which a top-up is attempted.
- **Top-up amount:** how much to add, from **$5 to $5,000**.

Attempts are limited to once per hour and are not instantaneous. A payment failure or rapid spending can still leave work waiting for funds. If an attempt fails, Billing shows the reason; a successful manual top-up clears that failure message.

A saved card is required. You can save one through the card check or a paid top-up.

**Any active model provider key pauses auto top-up for the organization.** Other providers can still spend the Teaflask balance during that pause, so check the balance when mixing funding sources.

## Set a low-balance warning

**Low-balance warning** controls when warnings appear on the billing page and in the sidebar. Enter a whole-dollar amount, or clear the field to return to the default of **$5**.

This warning is separate from the auto-top-up trigger and does not charge your card.

## Choose a plan

Your **Plan** is Free or Enterprise. Enterprise is for dedicated support, SLAs etc.; the Free plan is best-effort with community support.

Choose **Talk to us** on the plan row to discuss Enterprise. See [SSO](/sso) for its domain-verification and setup requirements, [Limits](/limits) for rate limits, and [Support](/support) for contact details.

## Find receipts and payment methods

**Billing history & receipts** opens the Stripe billing portal for receipts and saved payment methods. If billing has not been set up yet, complete the card check or a top-up first; a paid top-up is not required just to establish the billing account.

For common funding problems, see [Administration troubleshooting](/troubleshooting-administration).
